Recipe: Cleaning Business
The most popular Advik Booking configuration — a domestic cleaning service that handles property types, room counts, add-ons, and discount bundles without writing a line of code.
Why this is the canonical example
Cleaning companies face the most varied pricing logic of any service business. The same configuration pattern that powers a cleaning quote powers almost every other service business — once you understand this one, you understand the plugin. The 7 layers of logic
A typical cleaning booking walks through these layers, in order, each affecting the price and the questions asked next.
1. Item fields to create
| Field | Type | Pricing |
|---|---|---|
| Property type | Dropdown | Studio +$0, Flat +$10, House +$25, Bedsit +$5 |
| Number of bedrooms | Stepper (1–8) | + $15 per bedroom |
| Number of bathrooms | Stepper (0–5) | + $20 per bathroom |
| Property address | Text | — |
| Square footage (optional) | Number | + $0.05 per sqft (per service, override) |
| Access notes | Textarea | — |
| Frequency | Radio | One-off +$0, Weekly −$10, Fortnightly −$5 |
2. Categories
| Name | Sub-categories |
|---|---|
| Domestic Cleaning | — |

| Commercial | Office / Retail / Restaurant |
| Specialist | Oven / Carpet / Mattress / Window |

| Mattress cleaning | $25 | 20 min / mattress | Number of mattresses + Size (Single / Double / King) |
| Ironing (per hour) | $25 | 60 min | — |
5. The bundle discount
"20% off mattress cleaning if it's added to a Standard or Deep Clean" — this is the kind of conditional pricing most form plugins choke on. In Advik Booking you do it with a coupon that auto-applies when the conditions are met.
- Create the couponCode:
BUNDLE20. Type: Percentage. Value: 20. - Set it as automaticToggle Auto-apply when conditions met.
- Add the conditionsThe coupon auto-applies when the booking includes Mattress cleaning and the service is Standard Clean or Deep Clean.
- Customer never sees the codeIt's invisible to the customer — the discount just appears in the price summary when conditions match.
Putting it all together
A customer from SW1 books a Standard Clean for a 2-bedroom flat. They add mattress cleaning.
| Line | Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Clean (base) | — | $80.00 |
| Property type (Flat) | + $10 | $10.00 |
| 2 bedrooms | + 2 × $15 | $30.00 |
| 1 bathroom | + 1 × $20 | $20.00 |
| Mattress cleaning | 1 × $25 | $25.00 |
| Subtotal | — | $165.00 |
| Bundle discount (BUNDLE20) | − 20% | −$33.00 |
| VAT 20% (inclusive) | included | — |
| Total | — | $132.00 |
The customer sees a clear price summary, the form asked only the relevant questions, and the discount was automatic. The whole flow takes < 60 seconds.
