ReviewSense 1.0 is Here — From a Weekend Idea to a Stable Product

Seven months ago I pushed the first commit for ReviewSense on a quiet Sunday afternoon. The version tag was 0.1.0. It could do exactly one thing: take a Google review, send it to GPT-4, and return a draft reply in plain text. There was no WordPress plugin, no dashboard, no brand voice, and no way to publish a reply without copy-pasting it by hand. It barely worked. I showed it to three friends who run small businesses and every single one of them said the same thing: "I need this."
Today I'm proud to tag version 1.0.0 as stable. ReviewSense is ready for real customers, real businesses, and real reviews. Here is what it took to get here — and more importantly, what it can do for you.
The Journey: 0.1.0 to 1.0.0
The path from prototype to stable release was not a straight line. We shipped seven significant milestones over seven months, learning something important at each one.
- 1v0.1.0 (September 2025) — Single-model GPT-4 reply generation. Proof of concept only, no UI.
- 2v0.2.0 (October 2025) — Basic WordPress plugin. Connected to Google Business Profile via OAuth.
- 3v0.3.0 (October 2025) — Sentiment classification layer added. Positive and negative reviews now receive different prompt templates.
- 4v0.5.0 (November 2025) — Brand Voice configuration introduced. Businesses could describe their tone and the AI would adapt.
- 5v0.7.0 (January 2026) — Multi-platform support: WooCommerce reviews and Trustpilot connected.
- 6v0.9.0 (March 2026) — Auto-publish automation rules. Analytics dashboard (basic). Bulk reply mode.
- 7v1.0.0 (April 2026) — Stable. Full test coverage, production infrastructure, SLA-backed support.
"I almost shipped v0.9.0 as 1.0. I'm glad I didn't. The three weeks between 0.9 and 1.0 were spent fixing the things that would have embarrassed us in front of paying customers."

What ReviewSense Actually Does
Before diving into features, here is the one-line answer to "what is this?": ReviewSense is a WordPress plugin that reads your WooCommerce product reviews, generates a professional, on-brand reply using AI, and either puts it in your approval queue or publishes it automatically — all without you typing a single word.
Core Features in v1.0.0
AI Reply Generation
The engine behind every reply reads the full review, classifies its sentiment and urgency, and generates a response that matches your brand tone. A glowing five-star review gets a warm thank-you with a personal touch. A frustrated two-star complaint gets an empathetic acknowledgement, a clear explanation, and a next step. The AI does not write generic replies — it writes replies that sound like you wrote them on a good day.
Brand Voice Configuration
This is the feature that turns good AI replies into great ones. In under five minutes you give ReviewSense three things: a description of your tone (e.g. "warm and knowledgeable, like advice from a trusted expert"), a list of phrases that represent you, and a list of words or phrases to never use. From that point on, every reply reflects your voice — not a generic AI voice.
WooCommerce Review Inbox
v1.0.0 integrates directly with your WooCommerce store. Product reviews are pulled from your store database — no external API, no OAuth dance, no third-party credentials. Every review your customers leave on your store appears in a single clean inbox inside your WordPress dashboard, with the product name, star rating, and full review text ready to act on.
Note
ReviewSense works with any WooCommerce-enabled WordPress site. WooCommerce must be installed and active — it does not currently connect to external review platforms such as Google or Trustpilot.
Automation Rules
You decide how much automation you want. You can put every reply into a manual approval queue and review each one before it goes live. Or you can set rules: auto-publish 4-star and 5-star replies immediately, hold 1-star and 2-star reviews for your attention. Power users can combine star rating, platform, keyword, and sentiment filters to build very precise rules.
Tip
Start with manual approval for the first week. Once you've seen 20–30 generated replies and tweaked your Brand Voice, you'll have the confidence to turn on automation for positive reviews.
Analytics Dashboard
The dashboard gives you the numbers that matter: your response rate over time, average sentiment trend per platform, and your reply queue length. For businesses coming from zero percent response rate, watching that number climb week over week is genuinely motivating.
Who Is This For?
ReviewSense was built for businesses that run on WordPress and get more reviews than they have time to answer. Here are the use cases we see most often:
- WooCommerce stores — respond to every product review at scale without hiring a dedicated community manager
- High-volume shops — handle dozens of new reviews per week automatically, with manual approval only when you want it
- Niche or specialty stores — craft replies that reflect deep product knowledge and your unique brand personality
- Subscription and membership sites — turn recurring customer feedback into relationship-building conversations
- Agencies managing client WooCommerce stores — handle review responses for multiple stores from one place
Note
ReviewSense works best for businesses receiving at least 10 new reviews per month. Below that threshold, the free plan (up to 30 AI replies per month) is more than enough to get started.
What's Not in v1.0.0 (And Why)
We deliberately left some features out of 1.0.0. A mobile app, team inbox with role-based access, and bulk CSV export are all on the roadmap — but shipping them half-finished would have made 1.0.0 worse, not better. Every feature in 1.0.0 is complete. That is the promise of a 1.0 tag.
Get Started Today
ReviewSense 1.0.0 is available now. The free plan covers 30 AI-generated replies per month with no credit card required — enough for most small businesses to see a real difference in their response rate within the first two weeks. Install the WordPress plugin, connect your first review platform, and generate your first reply in under five minutes.
"We built ReviewSense because every business deserves to have its customers heard — not just the ones that can afford a full-time community manager."
